Traveling to timber point is half the adventure.

Our plan was to walk to tors cove and back via the tinkers point path for a round trip distance of 10 2 km. Refuge staff will work to build a public trail this summer and a small portion of the trail is open to foot traffic from sunrise to sunset. The final descent can be a bit hard on the knees after a long day. Enjoy driving the mile and a half to the trailhead entrance with the beautiful atlantic ocean mere yards from you. It was sunny and a little hot when we embarked on the trail. You can wander off trail and poke through tidal pools and rocks and if you ve timed your hike right you can walk across to timber island.

This is a wonderful walk just under 8 miles one way by a little beach and then along the little river to the ocean s edge where you have views of goose rocks beach and the 13 acre timber island. Make sure you allow plenty of time to hike this trail. It winds next to the little river. After a successful fundraising project this area has been included in the little river division of the rachel carson national wildlife refuge.
